Lori Parker-Gladstein
President/Co-Founder
Lori Parker-Gladstein, maiden name, Lori Stockton, was the oldest of two children of Mary and Ken Stockton.
Her mother (and biggest fan) entered Lori's name into the first "Miss Tarzana" Beauty Contest in 1970. Lori won that title and over the next few years went on to garner a total of 17 beauty titles. Having met the Honorary Mayor of Hollywood, Johnny Grant, while participating in the beauty contest circuit, Johnny approached Lori in the spring of 1971 to audition before the USO. The USO was looking for only four girls to accompany Johnny on his 41st tour overseas. Lori, with her background as an amateur singer and dancer, did indeed audition, together with 5,000+ other girls. Lori was honored by being selected to accompany Johnny on his hospital tour of the countries surrounding Vietnam (Guam, Okinawa and the Philippines) in July of 1971. Having successfully completed that tour, Lori was invited once again to join Johnny on his 42nd tour - this time, 16 days in South Vietnam, in December of 1971 where Lori joined Bob Hope to do his Christmas show.
Lori Parker-Gladstein married Edward Parker in 1974. They were blessed with four children, Travis Parker, Chad Parker, Casey Parker, and their baby and only girl, Nicole Parker.
Lori put her legal career on hold for some fifteen years to raise her children, while Edward excelled as director of marketing in the building of new homes.
Lori resumed her career in 1992, but the Parkers separated in January of 1993. Tragedy struck on November 20, 1993, when Nicole, while visiting her father, disappeared from the courtyard of his apartment where she had been playing. The Los Angeles Police Department, Homicide Division, found her body 36 hours later in the suitcase of a neighbor's home. She had been sexually assaulted and murdered.
Determined not to allow Nicole to become another statistic, Lori, together with her family and friends and with the help of Detective Joel Price, founded the Nicole Parker Foundation for Children. Lori's mission was to have Nicole's name live on through this non-profit organization. The Foundation is 100 percent volunteer-run and is dedicated to raising funds and donating them to various organizations that benefit children, including the CARES Team at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles.
Although Lori and Edward's marriage dissolved, they remain close and are each happily remarried. Lori is married to Martin R. Gladstein, a Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner, and has resumed her career in Family Law in Encino, California.
